How to Use Prime Video X-Ray to See Who's On Screen
Most streaming apps only list the cast for the whole show. Prime Video does something more useful: pause the video and X-Ray tells you who's in this scene.
What X-Ray shows
According to Amazon, X-Ray shows the actors in the current scene, the music playing, trivia and more. On some movies and series it also identifies the characters. The cast data comes from IMDb, which Amazon owns.
How to open it
Phone, tablet or web browser
Pause, or tap the screen, and the X-Ray panel appears. Tap a tile to expand it, or choose "X-Ray View All" at the top left for a full-screen view.
Smart TV or streaming device
Press or swipe up on your remote to bring up X-Ray. Press up again, or select "X-Ray", to open the full-screen view.
When X-Ray isn't there
- Not every title has it. Amazon says it's available on thousands of titles — so some don't have it at all.
- The data can be incomplete. Some titles have only partial cast or character information.
- Try another device. Layouts differ between devices; if you can't find it on the TV, try the same moment on your phone.
Watching on something other than Prime Video?
Netflix, Max, Disney+, Hulu and others don't offer scene-by-scene actor info. You're left with the full cast list — or searching by the face.
Our app, who are you again?, works no matter what service you're watching: snap the TV and you'll see who it is and their best-known roles, laid out on one screen.

Very new or little-known actors may not be found yet, and a search that finds no one never uses up a free search.
